I also noticed that the integration of the internal-page-links and the image-integration does not work with the freeware version, when you define tinymce as the default editor for the news texts.
But as always, there is a way to acchieve these goals: integrate FCKeditor as the editor for the AdvancedNews in the configuration of AdvancedNews and you will be able to integrate images using the Image-Button and to link to internal pages, using the link-button
